Rolypoly Family Junior Contemporary Dance
Rolypoly Family’s Junior Contemporary Dance Class is for children (aged 7-12) who love movement!
This is a creative contemporary dance class for boys, girls, and any child who enjoys dance, movement or acrobatics. In this nurturing environment, young dancers experience the endless creative possibilities of contemporary dance – floorwork, leaps and turns, gestures, going upside down, and a wide range of music, moods and dynamics.
Together, young dancers will practise physical drills and dance phrases, improvise, and create. This class nurtures young people into contemporary dance, encouraging all to make their own dances, push their own boundaries and imagination, and collaborate creatively. We also use acrobatic and partnering material, teaching different handstands, cartwheels and movement material that excite young dancers.

Led by dance artists Faye Lim and Bernice Lee, Rolypoly Family dance projects and programmes support the artistic, creative and social-emotional learning of young children and their families. We are a team of dance artists brought together by our intuitive and responsive movement practices and our dedication to children’s creative genius. We bring dance performances, workshops, exhibitions and other experiences to diverse children and families. We partner groups and organisations across Singapore, such as community groups, social service organisations, arts groups and institutions, and government agencies.
As performing and teaching artists, we bring to our programmes our expertise in facilitation, training in pedagogy, and of course, experience in and passion for dance, movement improvisation and performance. Our name is a statement of our beliefs – that families come in all shapes and sizes, that kinship can grow through creative and physical play (yes, rolling!), and that rhyming is as fun in language as in dance.
Rolypoly Family is a division of Derring-Do Dance. Some of the partners we have worked with include: The Artground and Terra Luna Yoga, 3Pumpkins, BuySingLit, Little Creatures by SA, LearnSG Seed Fund, Superhero Me, Lakeside Family Services, CatchPLUS, Tiny Play Club, Public Art Trust, Arts In Your Neighbourhood and DUO After Dark with DUO Singapore. Lunchtime Destress: Drumming for Fun Every Weekday Lunchtime
Join us for your lunchtime destress as we hit the drums for some fun.
Vast economic growth, long working hours, intense stress somehow made residents of this tropical city-state highly repressed. People eventually grew used to rules and structure in every aspect of their lives, eventually stifling self-expression, communication, creativity, and community spirit.
“Human beings need social contact, just as they need physical care” (Bowlby, 1952, 1980).

Sek Sheng, also known by his artist name ‘Dr Foo’, is a sound meditation facilitator, musician and DJ who holds space and prescribes music for healing and integration of deeper aspects of the self. He has immersed in and been trained in sound healing, yoga, meditation and music production in an ever evolving journey in the past 10 years.
Dr Foo believes that sound is a universal language that can re-awaken our innate power and connection with all, and serve as a fun yet sacred medium for healing and understanding.
His journeys emphasise the importance of owning our darkness before true healing and expansion can occur. His sound healing journeys interweave live therapeutic instruments (singing bowls, harp, melodic drums etc) with electronic music (hypnotic synths, binaural beats), nature sounds, ethnic music and mantras across cultures. It is a reflection of his journey starting as an underground club DJ in Melbourne to immersing in yogic journeys in India & Bali, and then realising the power of sound for therapy.
In recent years he has curated soundscapes for yoga and meditation events, full & new moon sound healing journeys as well as conscious/ecstatic dance events.

Mindful Mending by Cloop
Learn a few techniques on how to repair/upcycle clothing items to extend their wear!
The mindful mending workshop explores 3 different techniques to easily mend items to extend their life considerably. As a global population, every garment we make requires a huge number of resources to create, so mending the items we already have respects those resources and saves using new resources to produce a new item. Furthermore, if you love individuality and unique items, mending is a great opportunity to customise your garments and express yourself!
This workshop hopes to cultivate a relaxed atmosphere in which to learn how to mend. This a walk-in workshop that will be available to join anytime during the 5-hour duration, but pre-registration is encouraged for us to stagger attendees and plan around numbers. Come and leave as you please, you can choose to learn a technique or three! Materials and equipment will be provided, but feel free to bring items that require hemming, or have holes that you would like to mend!
$15 (Adult), $8 (Child)

Australian-born creative Sharon Soh grew up loving all things art-related, particularly being drawn to the glamour of fashion. However, being a dutiful Asian child like many of us are, she completed a Bachelor of Commerce at The University of Melbourne and a short stint in a global advertising firm.
The love of fashion never left her mind though, so she returned to study to follow her passion - Fashion Design. She worked for a large publicly listed fashion group for almost 9 years as a fashion designer and marketing manager at various times throughout her tenure. She saw first-hand fashion getting faster, bigger, hungrier and demanding more from all its resources, which increasingly did not align with her deep-seated feelings about sustainability and mindful consumption.
She now has a few passion projects in fashion, namely micro labels eS.Sential and I am Will James, which do not keep up with the seasons, and only produce ondemand to keep waste at the very minimum. Last but very far from the least, Sharon works alongside Cloop in various capacities in her free time, which has involved sorting clothing, creating social media assets, providing back-end technical support for their online presence, and the reason why we are all here, mending damaged garments so that they can be worn once again!
